I'm farther than I got the year before last when I stopped at 15,000 words; I have now written 25,050, and expect to accomplish the rest instead of giving up last time despite the fact that I have finals and everything else going on right now. YES I am insane. But I know I can do it this time: I have a better story, things are about to get exciting, and I've fleshed out several of the characters, leaving a few to go which ought to take up at least a few pages each and about a week of writing, but that can happen as the adventure truly starts.

They're in a pocket dimension where time is warped, and they can travel to basically any period of time if they know how, but really all they want to do right now is get back home, honestly-- but who they will meet tomorrow will change EVERYTHING: the older brother of two of the characters who's supposed to be in prison right now for murder. So how'd he GET there, is the main question, and how will he react to seeing his two younger siblings? It'll test family loyalty and group solidarity and hopefully get a character out of Mary-Sueish stage that she's in right now and beef her down so that she's human again.

I'm learning how to write better in this project I think, too, so that's a bonus, especially regarding conversational skills.

Also? We have no heat downstairs right now, which is where I sleep. It's a pain in the neck and I have been freezing, although being able to have hot tea has helped. We get it back Monday. I'm glad the electricity isn't totally out like it was last year, though!
